Overflow Hostage gives players five distinct control states over any NPC: aim at gunpoint, restrain with cuffs, grab as a human shield, carry over the shoulder, or order to follow. Every state triggers the correct animation and syncs across all nearby clients in real time, no glitchy rubber-banding. Ideal for bank heists, kidnapping scenarios, and high-stakes police standoffs.
Overflow Hostage detects your FiveM server's framework and inventory system on startup, no manual config edits. ox_inventory and qb-inventory are supported out of the box for the cuff item requirement. Drop the resource into your server folder, add it to server.cfg, and it works.
All hostage actions, grab, carry, cuff, release, are synchronized for every player within range using a chunk-based netcode approach. NPC entity state persists throughout long roleplay scenarios without desync or entity resets. The script maintains hostage integrity even when players move between network chunks during extended heist sequences.
NPCs don't comply blindly, Overflow Hostage gives each hostage attempt a configurable chance to trigger a resistance animation and flee response. Failed attempts enforce a cooldown to prevent repeated spam. When the NPC cooperates, it transitions into the correct follow or carry animation naturally, without interrupting the scene.
